Tracking Packages This Holiday Season

Tracking Packages This Holiday Season

Most carriers (including USPS) have decided to opt for skipping origin scans for packages upon picking them up in order to speed up intake of shipments.

If you can imagine, USPS alone processes millions of packages a day and I assume that a combination of record-breaking volume in shipments this year, coupled with the normal holiday rush, has them doing what they need to do to get packages to destinations as quickly as possible — which includes skipping scans.

There is expected to be an increased number of tracking statuses appearing to be "Pre-Transit" for a bit longer than "normal" and in some cases, packages are even missing scans entirely until they are delivered.

Of course, this might not be “ideal” but I just expect that they're doing the best they can during these extremely busy times.

Additionally, shipping carrier deadlines continue to be impacted due to the onslaught of online orders during the COVID-19 pandemic and as a result delivery times still haven’t quite caught up. These delays impact everything from manufacturing to suppliers to order fulfillment.

Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding! I appreciate you! We’re all in this together!
